Welcome to the Year 5 class page. As ever, we have a busy term planned. We will be using our class novel, The Firework Maker’s Daughter by Phillip Pullman, to provide a focus for our English work.

Routines
Homework and Reading Books
Please continue to access weekly homework on Google Classroom, this is posted on a Monday and needs to be completed by the following Sunday evening. Also children must be accessing their other online accounts each week at home – Reading Plus, Times Tables Rock Stars and Spelling Shed.
Your child should bring their school reading and record book each day to school, which should have a record of their reading at home from each evening. Children can change their reading book any day throughout the week but children must change it at least once each week (depending on book length!)
PE will take place on a Monday and Wednesday. We go swimming every Wednesday for our P.E.
Pupils must come to school wearing school PE kit.
Please remember that PE kit during these guidelines is as follows:
Blue shorts
White t-shirt
Plain navy tracksuit
Navy blue jogging bottoms/leggings
Plain navy blue sweatshirt/jacket
PE Kits should have no logos on.
